About Ramona
Owner Petersen Legacy Law, APC

Hello, I'm Ramona, founder and owner of Petersen Legacy Law. I am a lawyer, entrepreneur, and business strategist.

I am a licensed California attorney with over 27 years of experience, dedicated to helping families and business owners protect what matters most. Through thoughtful estate planning, I provide clarity, confidence, and peace of mind—ensuring assets are safeguarded, wishes are honored, and loved ones are cared for. Estate planning is more than just legal documents; it’s about securing a lasting legacy for future generations.

With a strong foundation in estate law and extensive experience as a corporate attorney, I bring a strategic, well-rounded approach to both estate and business law. I have advised individuals and businesses on complex legal matters, allowing me to offer tailored, forward-thinking solutions.

Before launching my own firm, I spent years leading Human Resources in corporate America, where I saw firsthand how a lack of proper planning left families struggling with probate and unintended asset distribution. That experience inspired me to focus on estate planning—helping families and business owners avoid unnecessary stress and take control of their futures.

My passion for this work is deeply personal. Raised by an immigrant single parent, I saw firsthand the struggles my mother faced to support us. One of her greatest concerns was ensuring she left something behind for her children—a legacy that reflected her hard work and love. When she contracted COVID-19 in 2020 and fell into a coma, my siblings and I struggled to locate her healthcare directives, despite knowing she had completed them. We were left making difficult medical decisions without clear instructions.

Tragically, my mother never recovered. However, her financial estate was well-organized with a strong trust, allowing us to distribute her assets smoothly and without conflict, ensuring her wishes were honored. That experience reinforced my belief that estate planning must go beyond a will or trust—it must address every stage, from incapacity to asset distribution, to truly protect families.

Beyond my legal work, I am deeply committed to giving back to the community. As a world traveler and adventure seeker, I have seen firsthand the impact that generosity and support can have on those in need. I was honored to be one of the first recipients of the MyTod Givers’ Award, recognizing my dedication to helping underserved youth in our community. As a mother and grandmother, I strive to lead by example, instilling values of service and compassion in my family and ensuring that giving back remains a priority for future generations.

Estate planning is one of the most meaningful investments you can make for your loved ones. I am here to help you navigate the process with confidence, ensuring your wishes are protected and your legacy lives on.
